Juddering on 5th gear acceleration

M1 20VT

when i accelerate harsh in my car or go fast in 5th gear it starts to judder a lot, boost is cutting off then back on. Anyone got any ideas what it may be.

When i turn ignition off and back on it goes back to normal. It even goes back to normal then i lift off accelerator and put foot on again. Otherwise it goes into a kind of limp mode and boosts only 4psi

Someone please help as its doing my head in!!

I had it plugged in mates computer and it come up with

'boost pressure controller intermitant'

Dont know what that could be.....

Also, new to these cars and there seems to be quite a lot of lag, up until 3k rpm it does shift at all.

thanks peeps

You want a standard N75 valve not a J or Race type. The F type is what you want. Can get them from www.vagparts.co.uk for about £40

Just been reading a bit more and totally agree with you, myki.
My car has been doing similar for a little while (hesitating when on full throttle, being a bit jerky then back to normal if I come off throttle and then back on). Not got vag-com sadly but lookd like a new N75 valve may be the answer.

it does not happen in 5th all the time. sometimes when your cruising in 5th then drop to 4th to overtake, it does it then as well. i can tell that boost is cutting out coz of my guage. could this still be down to n75 or spark plugs like stated above

cheers

ok ive changed plugs and it goes into limp mode when it hits high speeds. the juddering has stopped though but this time when you lift off and back on its still in limp mode. it resets itse;f when you turn ignition off and back on but then it only boosts 10psi instead of 16psi. It gradually makes its way to 16psi again after you have been driving a while. any ideas? n75?

cheers

would the dv send car into limp mode though if it was faulty? Im gonna chnage my n75 next or see if anyone i know can lend me theirs so i can see if that eliminates that
