I have had a problem with the wipers juddering over the full screen and it's now doing my head in. I have replaced the wipers with the bosch ones and it's still just as bad. It only seems to be the driver side blade that's the problem. Anyone else's do this??? When I first bought the car they were perfect so it's strange why it's now like this.

The screens been washed using the usual cleaners I've always used. The spring is still taught as well. I might just change it over to see if it helps. Hope it's not an expensive part in case it makes no difference.

Had very similar problems myself. After some time it turned so bad that the wipers could stop at a random place, until getting them down a few minutes later.

Picked out the wiper mechanism, and found the left hand wiper clogged up (inside), not beeing able to turn. I guess that over time water could leak past the seal, causing it to rust. Apparently you can open it up, or drill a hole in the casting to get some lubrication inside.

I never made it that far, as I broke the damn cast metal trying to turn the thing! Ended up getting a new mechanism (same as golf IV btw) for about £48 (plus shippinhg). Pretty easy and fast job to do.

Hope this helps! :)
