just a small question

when people mention the p.d engine in a conversation (e.g a pd130), what does the 'p.d' stand for. a little more knoledge doesnt hert much. thanks

Pump Dusse.

From memory, it basically means high pressure injection, but I could be wrong. :)

Pumpe duse = unit injector.

Each injector has a small pump assembly built into it and driven by a separate lobe of the camshaft. So there's no injector pump or common rail pump, all the fuel injection pressure is generated directly in the injector.
