HANTS
Just picked up my new leon. Before parting with my money I Looked around the car and found some scuffs and scratches on the bottom of the interior door trim. Showed the salesperson and she said they would send a guy around to my house to remove the marks. Fair enough. Looked round the rest of the car and it looked ok. Paid for it and drove home. On arriving home (god dammit, isnt it always the same!!) I noticed that the sill under the passenger door had a large white mark on it ( about 8 inches long and 2 inches wide.) I dont know how I missed it, it is low down and you do have stand back or kneel to see it but its so noticable. I first thought it was polish the hadn't been wiped off but on closer inspection its looks like something else over the top of the paint. Even t cut wont shift it. Phoned the dealer immediately but will have to wait until tomorrow to speak to the person I was dealing with.:( Sat in the car on my drive familiarising myself with the stereo etc and noticed a mark on the top of the dash aaaarrrggghhh!!!!Thought I'd cheer myself up by actually driving the thing and have noticed two seperate rattles. One directly behing the centre console and one that seems to be coming from behind the steering column. I'm a bit worried I've got a Friday afternooner!

Bought the car from the Snows dealership in Portsmouth. Have to say I'm deeply unimpressed with the quality of the PDI.

Can anyone on here who uses this dealeship cheer me up with experiences of problems that have been sorted quickly and competently?

On the plus side the car itself feels very comfortable, looks stylish and is good to drive (well, thats why I bought one!):) I'm just praying these problems get sorted.

The door trim inside the car does mark easily, I remember when i was looking at a leon in the showroom it had terrible marks on top of the dash it was the price sign put on top of the dash being moved when they dusted it and dragged along it......

Dont worry, after a few hundred miles you really dont notice it!
Why not ask the stealer to get the "dents and Dings" man round - a previous thread got him to the dealers for a dent around the 12v socket - said the repair was invisible, and more important FOC!

Thats cheered me up andrewb:D;) so their just expecting you to accept it?

Talking of having to accept things as they are sounds very familier to me, had my brand new leon 2 for just over 3wks now and although i am delighted with the car itself i am not with the quality of after sales, it does seem to me that once you have parted with cash and took the car, then you find out the true colours of the dealership when things are found not right with the car.
Rust that i found on the car wasnt vast enough to have things sorted out on the warranty, bobbles under the paintwork near the seals were not notaceable enough, was told if it cant be seen from 1metre away then i will have to pay for the work to be done, 12v cover i had put on the console tthey managed to damage the plastic, although they did put that one right, faulty radio that turned itself on and off when it felt like it was noted and i was told should have been orderd last week, well just thought i would check up on that one only to be told by the parts guy he would need to find the job sheet and call me back, no call back so i tried a second time and was told he still needs to here back from who ever but would call me later the same day, no phone call again so i tried, the following morning and was asked who should have orded the radio, so i explained, to cut the story short otherwise i could go on here, it was not ordered and has now just been ordered was told it would only be a few days, got a phone call later in the day to say that there will be a delay now and it may take between 10 to 14 days now:doh:
the moral of the story is unless you have a very good and understanding maindealer before and aftersales then you will find yourself with high blood pressure and unsatisfaction with a warranty that is as good as a used tea bag:whistle:

Drive straight back to the dealer NOW.

I had this with my Ford Focus when I bought it, making the mistake of assuming the stealer would care. They didn't.

You are in the window to reject, I would highly recommend it. They never get these problems solved. Take it back, reject it NOW and don't give up. Leave it too long and you will be stuck (like I was) in warranty hell.

Hi Shaunw

I have been dealing with Snows @ Protsmouth for over 4 years now (actually had 3 new cars from them). I have always found them very helpful & more than willing to get things sorted as quickly as possible.

The only thing that slows things down is the Seat warrenty dept sometimes take a while to authurise the work.

On the subject of rejecting a car its very hard to do, Ive had experience of this with my last car a new astra, first of all youre sale contract is with the dealer NOT seat who will these days tell you that the dealer is an independant business and not their (SEAT) concern even though they would go mad if a dealer did say sell vauxhalls from the same showroom. The car should be right i know but to reject you have to not have warranty work done and the car left back at the dealer before being refunded youre money which you may not get and the car left at the garage at youre risk, the car is losing you money while there and you may have to take it back whilst having had to get the bus to work!!

So to be practical, unless you have legal cover on the house insurance which may pay for expensive legal costs write to seat and the dealer say you are a loyal customer of both, NEVER say you are leaving as they have nothing to save them from losing you as a customer and try for (as well as the car being corrected) to get some 'goodwill' off them free service etc. I know how frustrating these car problems are hope its sorted for you.....

I went through this and it depends on how you paid for it. There are two acts that will cover an unacceptable vehicle:

Sale of goods act covers cash & loan agreements.

Supply of goods act covers hire-purchase agreements.

I rejected the Focus (finally!) through the finance company using my rights from the supply of goods act.

When i got mine there was a scratch in the dash and on the steering wheel, the aero kit wasnt fitted properly either so i made them replace the dash and airbag cover and fit the aero kit properly id only done 50 miles in it before it was back at the dealers. just got it back from having the dash replaced and the passenger air vent is broken. We just cant win sometimes.
