Drove it the same as I did the Leon. 70mph for 80 miles a day and 40 miles of twisties. My motorway cruise helps loads. If I arse it home I gain 10mins and lose 10mpg so I can't see the point.
vwpologti, maybe you should correct your sig to say "you can win but you're still a retard!"
Cost wise is obviously more than the Leon where I spent up to £60 a week. It has a 62L tank but I've not managed to get more than 59L in it. No venting on this where I managed to get 63L in the 55L Leon once. I'm also paying more for Tesco 99RON at the moment whilst I have a decent play.
I think once I've calmed down a bit it will cost me about £80 a week in fuel. I'd have a DERV coupe if someone did a nice one...
After a slight topical recess from posts 22 to 29 , I'd like to state how I think it's looking like I'm on for another good week of economy this week..
Fingers crossed. BTW Andy, rumour has it the new TT may have a diesel engine introduced shortly..
They're producing the A5 with a 3.0 V6 TDI Write up in this months evo, they really like it!
Recorded my best motorway MPG today from parents to pompey.
Sitting at an indicated 75/6mph and GPS read 70/71mph on cruise the whole way home I managed 59mpg on the trip computer (so genuine ~54/55). This was with a bootload of stuff too! A few boots off roundabouts but generally maintaining constant speed. Raised my average (second trip computer) from 46.5 (lots of town driving recently ) to 49.9mpg.
Best I have achieved was 64.1mpg but due to traffic I was doing a max of 55mph on the cruise so I find that hard to count.
Andy does the streamline hair help achieve the good mpg in the TT
