Yeah i read it on a thread a few weeks ago??

I did wonder how changing the system would affect anything, only if you did summat stupid to the MAF.

Does it make the cupra rev more freely at all BTW????

Fitting a open cone filter 'could' screw up the MAF if it was a heavily oiled filter and the oil choke up the MAF.

Mine does seam to rev more freely when I fitted the open cone filter.

+1 i love the difference the open cone made.

damien did you fit your turbo tip if so was it easy? did you have to get under the car?

Yea I did mate. You only need to get under the car to undo 1 cap head bolt that bolts the OEM TIP to the turbo, everything else can be done from above.

I did have to cut off a little from the end that fits onto the turb so it would fit past the hard water pipe that is close to the turbo inlet. Have a look at this http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=143688&highlight=cupra&page=7

im sure i just replied to this and its not displaying.

anyway im unsure if i should fit it or not normally id do all my own work but cutting £110 worth of pipe doesnt leave room for any mistake. formula one brighton said they would do it for £35 so i really dont know now.

It will need cutting no matter who fits it mate so you might as well do it your self. Just cut a little off at a time untill it goes on without fouling the hard water pipe.

shocking that thought forge would have got it right so it didnt foul hard water pipe.
may have to order and give it a go as £35 can go towards rear arb or next weeks service.

Its actualy designed for the FR not the Cupra, thats why its not a straight fit.

Although once I pointed out that it does fit the Cupra with a little trimming Forge actualy changed there website to reflect it :D

lol just looked at the forge site never noticed it says to trim the hose down a little.
anyway thanks for the pointer will probally order mine tomorrow and fit it next week hopefully.
look forward to hearing some slightly different notes through the open cone.

Lol, had a few cars before where the airbox is moulded to the shape of the inner wing making it a rite b****** to get out. Gonna attack it the weekend I think if it stops raining. Next is TIP and 007p, then re-map time (gonna be around september) then who knows, probably the Coilovers?? Im getting the bug now bad!!!
