its not just the money though...its the hassle of getting it done...or the point of it

im just not impressed with what you get i never have been, now if everyone was breaking into the 13s qtr mile times then yeah sure, but seeing as only mark did that i think, i just dont see the point

i wont ever deny its not quicker! but its not that much quicker in reality even though it does look it on the road

surely that's a contradiction? lol

and 1/2 a second on 1/4 mile at those times equates to quite a large gap.

a K03s should be breaking 13's all day. i guess it's just down to the driver though :rolleyes:
 
what exactly does it contradict...im basically stating the k03s turbo will make your car quicker (undeniable), but not by the great deal that some people make out.

i have first hand experience watching Daz_Gibbo blast by me all the bloody time. He's taken me out in it and it does go like stink. but so does my car with the stock turbo, though it may not seem like it due to the way that i drive.

you say a k03s should be breaking 13s all day...

as far as i remember...its been done once

i suppose the question is what is there difference?

what is the difference between 2 cars running the exact same mods but one is fitted with a k03s, the other with a stock turbo....

i cant compare me and Daz really, as he always like to point out hes running stage 2 revo im on stage 1, (not that i believe theres much difference there either)

quicker spooling and a more broad power range although the k03s still dies off, but it has still more in it than the k03

peak....some people say the peak more with a k03s on the same map...though im curious how the delivered boost changes all of a sudden...

back to the qtr mile scenario...sorry to bring Baz in to this...but baz hasnt broken into the 13s with the copius amounts of weight loss.....

one lad who sold up couldnt get into the 13s with k03s and nos!!

ok im a fine one to talk, i havent broken into the 14s yet...but 15.1 on a 2 day old clutch in the middle of a heatwave...and 15.3 with a misfire occuring as soon as i hit full wack...

can you see why im not that impressed?
 
well the only 2 K03s i know of,

mk4 polo got 13.6
and a lad round my way with a K03s got 13.8

so that's 2 i know of, and that's the only 2 K03s times i've heard?

when you getting the FMIC then? i better get mine in november!
 
those 1/4 mile times are shocking! yea i can see why your not impressed. my 106 gti did a 15.0 when it just had an air filter!!! lol
 
i find the lil old k03 is beefy enough! Ive whooped an astra VXR, zafira VXR, Scoobies, a turbo'd mini, v6's.......but the funn thing is the only car that could keep right up close til about 40 mph is a quad bike LOL!
 
Was he running semi slicks? Stripped out? I also wouldn't take 1/4 mile times as a true rep. of a cars overall performance.
As you know alot of St1 revo'd Ibizas run 15. But so has a 106gti with minimal mods as said above. Traction anyone?
But I know which would be the quicker car in reallity!

I just as you, do not think Stage 1 > Stage 2 makes any difference on a KO3
But I obv have it to encourporate the KO3s 4Bar etc.

When i put my K03s on it was a decent bit better while it was on stage 1 Revo but as soon as i put it on stage 2 Revo i got fed up and went GT2X. My advice to anyone is stick with stage 1 Revo rather than going too 2.

Mine when on stage 1 was RR'd at 230 BHP & 250 IBFT and would have maybe pulled a 14.3 ish but no way a 13

When stage 2 was put on it was definately worse, slower, less torque and less power.
 
Mark(mk4polo) got a 13.8 in his before he sold it, not stripped out using road tyres.

I still can't get better than 14's but you have to remember my car is only mapped for 1.1Bar(16psi) I think all the other tuners map the ko3s turbos to 20+psi.

if its the same bloke i bought my nos off, AKA ibiza-cupra, i could have sworn he was getting 13.7's?? it used to be in his sig, and when i spoke to him he also mentioned it, he was aiming for 13.4 but i bought his kit off him so end of that idea

maybe he made it into 13s eventually, but i must of missed it

but when you think that Mark got a 13.8 without nos theres something wrong there. although Mark had 'custom mapping'. alot of the people who havent managed to break into 13s are still running on revo st2, which il accept may hinder them slightly compared to some who went to jabba i think.

but then flashbsd is running k03s and jabba custom map but with the allmighty laguna intercooler :D and he couldnt at his last visit to pod
