I have now done all the mods to my car for stage 2... i think.

DV, Induction kit, FMIC, TIP, 3" turbo back exhaust. (decat)

I am now planning on stage 2 custom code, But if i can source a decent priced k03s i would put it on first.

Is it worth going k03s? Is there anything else i need to buy apart from what is below?

Also if i were to go k03s hyrid would i just need to put on the hybrid turbo or do you need more goodies to run the hybrid?

Cheers, Ross.

its good to see you did a search first....not

k03s will hold power slightly longer and might give 10-20hp more.

Hybrid will definately be worthwhile. You will need 3" maf, 3" tip and LCR injectors.

for all of the above a 4bar FPR is needed

I thought you only needed the 4bar fpr if your map required it?

I thought it was only an extra 10-20 bhp. Which makes me wonder is it worth the 250 odd quid for 10-20 bhp ?

Ross.

true, fpr is not always needed

10-20 is exactly what i said, plus if you knew then why start a new thread?

I never knew, i was just guessing (and you told me) as people on here with k03s are running 240 so i was assuming that was the max you can get out of them?

And with my mods and a remap should i make about 210-220bhp?

its hard to say with dyno lottery. here in holland people make 265 on k03s but thats got to be down to the rollers..

I think that if you're on a good setup for k03 you'll barely notice the difference, expect over 5k revs

I think i might keep my money and get the car mapped the way it is! Then i can start saving for either a new car next year or a big turbo.

I just don't know whether to book the car in for stage 2 or to ko3s it :S

Think i will just book it in for a map!

its up to you.

maybe worth checking the search for what other people got out of their K03s apposed to a K03.

Both will be stage 2, either custom or remap.

personally, if i were you and could source a cheap k03s then I would opt that route.

I bought a new k03s for good price, and managed to sell my k03 almost for the same, so upgrading cost me very little.

If I could do it all over though, i would have made it hybrid though

imo save mate and go hybrid you got the option now and once you got the k03s after a while your going to want more power anyway...

you no you will...;)

did exactly this, went from ko3 to ko3s and now i want to go hybrid. Yes you will need new injectors, maf and manifold, fuel pump, then mapping, but it will be worth it and a bigger jump up in power.

If i was in your position id go straight from ko3 to hybrid and avoid the step to ko3s.

Yes ko3s set up right will still be a quick car, i can vouch for that, but i think your better off saving for a hybrid!

iirc from what ive read think its £600 backdrafts way with a k03s for the hybrid treatment...???

see if you can find a not so well k03s for cheap then the rest is history...

if i had the funds to do it i would...

I drive with a K03s
i feel i have more power on the and of the shift and thts it.

u not need to switch inj' or something but i instelled a wallbro fuel pump just in case

good luck man!

Ok so its not compulsory, when i do it i'll be getting one, pretty pointless having hybrid with a standard manni

yeh saw this one on edition38, its fooked mate. Stay well away. Buy a good condition cheap ko3 and send that to be hybridized, there are loads of them about!
