K04 Turbo From Seat Rallye Team "Questions"

Hi Guys, this is my first thread on here.

My question is regarding my turbo.. I managed to get my hands on the actual turbo the Seat Leon Rallye car used before they went to Diesel. (it was brand new etc)

Now..all i know it has been reinforced and has 360 thurst bearings.. The actuator rode is welded so you can not adust it..

I know the seat rallye car would produce 300bhp, my question is does anyone know how much boost this turbo can take? would it be classified as a Hybrid? anyone have it fitted...

As i have read a lot on here, about people having hybrid k04's etc and holding more boost over the rev range etc.

If someone could shine some light on my turbo that would be great

Is this a MK2 or MK1 Leon?
With the MK2 cupra KO4 it will make 340 BHP easily with the right mods
If its the MK1 KO4 you will make 265 BHP easily but not much more

So your saying the Seat Rallye car only produced 265bhp ? (mk1) ?? how much boost was it running if you know ?

Do you mean the Super Copa's? They didn't do 'rally' cars (though some race cars were converted)

The turbo w/gate was welded to stop tampering, and they're otherwise totally standard, so won't make 300bhp

you maybe right, i guess the only way will be to find out when i get her mapped..and see how much i can get out of her...260-270 wouldn't be bad in a mk2 golf ...

The turbo's were not totally standard, they had a different compressor wheel and a cut back turbine. They were built by TurboDynamics. I agree they wouldn't make 300 though.
