Mine was delayed at port for a week as seat uk ran out of exhaust back boxes. Only took a week to get from spain to port though.

PDI inspection would throw up any faults, includin' mis aligned panels etc.
I have had an encouraging response from my dealer today. Irfan has exceeded my expections by saying, "Don't worry, I will be going over your car with a fine tooth-comb, and if it's not right, collection will be delayed until it is."

I hope mine fits......I'll be very very dissapointed if I've bought a car that I can't reaallly afford and it doesn't look the dogs when i pick him up!
What exactly does "Build Week 18" mean, for example? The car will actually be finished being built on the 18th week after the order was first placed?
I've ordered an FR and the delivery/collection date keeps getting pushed back.. it's really pissing me off. It's now looking like "worst case scenario" delivery is end of 15th week after I've ordered it, and it was promised in the 10th week!!
They say they now have the Chassis number, but don't know when it will be shipped. What exactly does this mean?

hate to say this but i think this is
. there is no way that seat or whoever have built this body kit would get the moulding wrong. do you have any idea of the costs involved to get the mouldings done, then the machinery set up and all the processes put in place so they can manufacture these parts ? if you did i doubt you would be saying what you are.
yes if you buy a cheap bodykit, the fitment will be sh*t because some young monkey / chav dropped out of infant school then became a moulder for a 'bad boy body kit' manufacturer.
i have dealt with a few body kits and 9 times out of 10 you pay for what you get. a mate of mine paid nearly £2k for a body kit, some laughed at him for spending that much when they had only spent £300-£400 quid on a full kit. but the finish and quality of the products are worlds apart.
anywho, rant over. hope all your cars arrive, and Phnates, if Irfan has said something like that, then he wont want to tarnish his reputation unless he means what he says.

Some dealers are better than others with the inspections I reckon. Perhaps they should borrow Irfans fine toothcomb!! LOL
Or maybe just buy your cars from him!
As far as I know the build week refers to the week in which the car will be physically built, e.g the 18th week of 2008. I don't have a calendar to hand to work out which week we are currently in sorry.
My Cupra kept getting pushed back and in the end they found another car the same spec. I was concerned that I'd end up getting a car mid August and having to register it 2 weeks before the new plate came out.
Chassis numbers are allocated quite early on in the build allocation process (or are for other manfacturers anyway).
Shipping can take a while, I read somewhere it can take upto a week to load the ship.

Mine is taking ages, dealer said end of March. Week build 10 and still waiting. He said a few weeks ago that it would be ready last weekend. No luck and now looking like it be the last weekend in April. He can confirm its on the boat and coming in to Sheerness so hopefully be soon

Having parking sensors fitted, so, I guess my dealer will NEED to remove & refit bumper anyway! They will then need to refit & get it right!
