Ah, that's a bloody good point actually as I am hoping to keep this one a few years (pikeys and parenting allowing).
I also need a cost effective way of getting some anthracite seven spokes on her.

Thanks mate. Neither was I at first. This was a real left of field decision as I have been a hot hatch man most of my driving life. However the quattro combined with the tuneability of the 2.0 was always appealing. Then add in the fact that it's lighter than an S3 and so much prettier and bang, it became a no brainer.

Add the TTRS rear spoiler in gloss black or carbon and some anthracite wheels as mentioned i think it would look even better and meaner imo.

Latest update. Drove from t'North down to summerset and I am absolutely blown away.

On the motorway it was noticeably quieter than the k1 (as expected really). It seemed to have a lot more guts in the midrange and really was a case of point (for the gap) and shoot. I was surprised as she is a bit of a porker compared with the k1 and I was expecting more loss through the haldex once on the move. I need to retrofit cruise as it is very difficult to keep it at reasonable speeds.

Once in summerset I got a chance to put her to the test on the twisties as we went to the wrong church for the wedding and had a real "four weddings and a funeral moment". I had to do a twenty minute drive in ten. This was mostly on winding roads only wide enough for one car and littered with ponies. Popped the magride on and strapped the wife down firmly and hoofed it. Once again, very poised and felt very safe, cornered on rails basically. I am also getting better at powering out of the bends earlier.

The only gripe that remains is she feels very lackluster below 3000 revs (probably due to being such a fattie) and needs driving hard to wring the most out of her in the early gears.

Glad to here your liking the car mate, surprised at the mid range bit, i would of thought the k1 would of felt quicker once up and moving especially at motorway speeds, Not suprised it feels planted with the quattro and low centre of gravity though.

I reckon still room for a tab of Revo in their though then she would be a beast :D.

Yes I was fully intending to hold off until I had more miles on her but it's become a case of "ah b*llocks to it". Going to get her done as soon as economically viable.

Already had to fork out on all the gear to refurb the three sodding alloys I have kerbed!!!

Yeh its always best to get used to the car a bit and run it in properly and nice to feel the power increase in stages rather than going straight for it and getting used to the power and then wanting more.

Don't forget not only are you fighting a touch of extra weight, you will be suffering from extra drivetrain losses from the Haldex system.

I thought the TT was half steel / half aluminium space frame to help with weight reduction and weight distribution (e.g. battery being mounted in the boot of some models).

Yes we get the benefit in the wet, but in the dry it only offers real use off the line.

PS: Stunning, I'd love one.

LMAO, thing is she's sat opposite me right now and I really don't want to get into that conversation!!

Cheers for the comments guys. I will have to do a bit of comparative testing on the magride front and report back. Will also let you know after the remap whether it sorts out the limp performance below 3k revs.

The audi seems to be doing marginally better. I am averaging around 30 mpg whereas in the cupra I was averaging 27. However I haven't been thrashing the audi much yet due to running in. May end up being pretty similar.
