k1 wheel info

hi guys im new so go easy on me ive found some wheels i like just want to check they will fit on the k1 nicely any help would be greatly apreciated the wheels are 18x8 with 42mm offset from what ive read the std wheels are 18x7.5 51 offset and as i dont really understand offsets thought id get my answers here cheers

Yeh they should fit mate, checked using an online offset calculator
http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

says will clear the inner edge (the strut) by 3mm
and will stick out 15mm from the origional position.

I think it depends on the type of wheel too

I was assured that 18x8 with an ET of 42 would fit my K1

I was looking at a set of these

Got to the warehouse and there was no way they were fitting.
The guys tried for 45 minutes but it just wasn't happening.
The tread on the tyres stuck out from the wheel arch by about 10mm
and the alloy fouled on the brake calliper. they even tried with 5 mm spacers but they stuck out even further (obviously).

I would suggest that you "try before you buy" with the diemensions you have suggested.

hi welcome, I think in general with the 8x18 rim et45 is the lowest you can go, not a 100% sure though. theres a big thread on here about this something along the lines of - pro race 1.2 without fouling wheel arches. hope this helps

No not quite.
I got some Momo FX alloys which are 18x8 with an ET of 50
and had them painted to my specs

For what it's worth, my BBS CK are 18x8 ET44 and fit fine.

there bbs replicers mate sorry,there black with a red rim,the wheel looks loverly alone but i really dont like the look now there on the car so the hunt is on for some more wheels lol

What colour is your K1 out of interest.

I thought the reps looked fairly decent on the photos I've seen.
Must admit haven't seen them in the flesh though.

nothing wrong with the wheels atall its just not to my taste the car is white ill try get a picture up in an hour,bare in mind the car hasnt been lowered yet lol

Hmmmm

Needs black centre caps and bolts but I think they look ok from those piccies.
But it's all down to personal taste.

If you decide to get some different ones and you need to move those on,
I'll have first refusal on them if you don't mind

yer black centre caps are coming this week and the standard black bolt covers clip over them i just been lazy today lol
