it's one of these things i do on auto pilot, so i 'might' be getting this wrong, but i'm pretty sure i've always pressed once to unlock drivers door, twice to unlock all doors / boot, once to lock.

past couple of weeks i'm sometimes having to press more than this e.g. the twice to unlock all doors doesn't always work, sometimes have to press two or three times to get it to lock.

key battery must be around 2.5 years old as i've never changed it all the time i've had the car. is the above likely to be caused by a battery that needs replaced or could there be an issue with the electrics ... what's more likely in your opinion? is the battery easy enough to change diy style?

Suppose it could be battery, however My car is coming up to 4 years old this coming month, I've had it from new and the battery is the original one and it still works fine! Easy to replace anyhow just use a small screwdriver to open the key fob up and prize the 2 clips to get access to the battery then carefully remove and replace it.

Sounds like the remote battery to me mate - for the sake of a couple of quid it's worth doing it for elimination purposes if nothing else

ive had my key apart to change mine about a month ago, its easy enough to do yourself, the battery number is CR2032 3V

Had this issue before now. But with me, it just stops responding.

That or the red light on the fob turns on constantly. Popping open the fob quickly and removing and replacing the battery resolved this two or three times before I eventually bought a new battery. The issue has never arrisen since. I find sometimes throwing cash at a problem sorts stuff out :p

I was told by Seat that if the red light stays on when you press it, your battery needs replacing.

Well there ya go then :p

Once the red-light became static on my key, I was unable to operate the locking on my car at all. For a while, just removing the battery worked.. but ultimately, replacing it did the trick.

I was a little worried at first that I'd managed to delink the key from the car.

I had the same sort of scare, hence me phoning Seat. The day I collected the car I drove home and realised I couldn't lock or unlock the car via the remote key. Then I realised my windows and mirrors weren't working either  Quick trip to Seat and they replaced a fuse... job done. Not the greatest start to LCR ownership though!

changed battery in key, still no remote locking

had the LED go red constantly, changed battery to new one, now no light on key at all and remote central locking still not working, any ideas???
