I have a spare remote key and will get the key cut myself... how much is a dealer likely to charge me to get the keys transponder coded?

I think you can do it yourself the manul surgests you can match up keys using the spare and a combination of activites
but im not sure

Hi mate,

I *think* you can program the radio function yourself (doors lock/unlock) but the imobiliser bit (transponder) has to be done via vag-com (or by transplanting the actual glass transponder from the spare key)
