There is a simply epic thread on this in the FAQ section. Should give you all the info you need.

Any key cutters can do it I thought, I got mine done at a shoe repair type place, and it's the best mod ever!! X

soo if i buy a 2 button flip key off ebay and get the key cut should that just work then after programed it to the car or do i need to take anythink out the other keys ???

Right then....just to sort a few things out here!

I have just bought one of the keys from fleece bay and had no trouble getting it cut, it came with a blank uncut blade and a local locksmith cut it for me for £3 :funk:

The mainstream key cutting places are scared of damaging the electronics side of things, but if they know what they are doing then this won't cause an issue!

The ebay key will have the remote capability that you can 'pair' with you car, the problem comes with the transponder in it. This too will be blank and un-programmed but you will have to go to a main dealer to get it programmed:(

Alternatively, you can do what I did (which has been done by many before) and carry out the following:

Remove the transponder from the new key and keep it somewhere safe for use in the future perhaps.

Then get your valet key ( the one without any buttons) and split the black plastic section in half.

Then take a stanley knife or similar and VERY carefully cut away the plastic that secures the transponder in the fob. Take you time doing this as the transponders are fragile and if you damage it, you're back to square one!!

Once you have removed the transponder from the valet key, fit it to the new flip key and then follow the steps for programming the remote to your vehicle.....simples! [B)]

Hope this helps?
