keyfob not operating central locking

hi have got a problem with my remote keyfob the battery went last week so changed the battery but the keyfob not operating every time i need to lock car with key in drivers door any ideas on fixing this problem thanks

Check the contacts on the circuit board of the fob.

Does the fob light, light up?

recheck battery polarity and small contacts - should light up
