For the peice of mind go for a hybrid, ive got a k04 on mine and it is not as straight forward as people make it out to be. i would recommend ie rods as i bent two on my old block.

The following will need modifying:

Heater matrix pipe beneath the coldside turbo housing.
Oil return line needs extending.
Coolant line off after run pump needs extending (I got a full braided line made up irrc it cost £10 to do so)
Coolant line off the back of the block needs extending (Custom braided line made up / Otherwise use K04 coolant line for this)
Oil line off oil filter housing can be bent slightly to fit straight onto the turbo (If using the standard k03 line)
Standard Ibiza fuel pump will be fine on 3bar as Bill will tell you as long as its still in good working order.
Q peng downpipe is a straight fit but only at 2.5" as 3 inch is not available unless you have it custom made.
standard Ibiza MAF element in 3" housing.
S3 Injectors
S3 manifold
Gaskets to suit
k04 TIP
Mapping to suit

That should sum everything up.

Cheers. All the above is on now apaart from the dp and map.
Who done the map on its that bent the rods still unsure in who to map the car

Whats the point in spending all that money/effort/time if you are just going to tame the cars map back... just save up for some rods and you will be able to fully exploit the turbo to its full potential.

Some maps are known to be more "aggressive" than others but its not the only factor that could mean a bent rod and a crushed wallet.. engine age, milage ect all come into play and how much it has been abused through the years..

You may be lucky and get away keeping your standard rods but it will be like playing russian roulette with your engine..

James is right buddy, I blew up my 1st engine and ended up forking out £2500 just on parts! I carried out the build myself so that's excluding labour. seriously advise rods then go all out on the map, atleast you will have nothing to worry about.

Ok I have had a think about what u guys have said. I called a guy who will do the rods and a fewOther internals for me for a good price. What else should I get done while the engines in pieces and what rods do u guys recommend. Don't realy need to do cam belt and pump as was done two months ago.

Thanks a lot for advice

Definately do a deglaze on the bores with new rings if your going as far as rods. its not often your going to decide to open up the block so just do these changes now for a peice of mind. i would even say you may aswell change the main bearings for the crank but then the list will go on and you will end up just doing a full rebuild, but trust me fella its worth it and like i said you will have a peice of mind;) also get Calico coating big end bearings from Bill to go with the rods :)
