Got the all clear from my mechanic, only thing that needs attention is a slightly blowing centre exhaust box and one cv boot needs replacing. Nothing major. Happy days as this means I can buy a few small mods for the car, firstly I would like wheel spacers.
Does any one have any recommendations for front and rear spacing? What works well etc?
Next would be a Dv, pretty much decided on a forge 008, but any recommendations for better one would be good. That's it for now.
Cheers for reading.

Small updates, I've been shut in the garage the most of today and some of yesterday
First of all was the heat shield I got off got a heatshield off of R1TCHIE on here... if you need a heat shield I'd recommend these

Then decided to repaint my front 'S' badge
Before (sanded)

After first few coats

Actual S done in Satin black, the grill 'S' was redone in Ford colorado red.

Then my centre caps needed attention and so got these off ebay

Others jobs were clean and polish the under bonnet as I took the lining off last week. Had my exhaust wealed due to a crack on the centre box.

Parts on order -

Induction cold air feed - as current set up is using the original intake but isn't going to provide anything near enough air flow
Forge DV008 B-)
Forge sticker (+5bhp)

Need to order the parts for resealing my doors too as it would appear my rear passenger side had it's own pool!

Cheers for reading, comments and suggestions welcome.

Looks good mate,Was it easy to take the front grill off as i would like to do something similar to my front badge but was worried about breaking the grill trying to get it off ??

That looks smart,
I'll post you must mine lol

Haha. I'm no expert. Was a slight rush job but came out decent.

Mine was a bit fiddly, but if you're patient its just a case of slowing easying it out. There are two push clips on either side release these and then ease it out. Then the 'S' insert part can be pushed out from the main grille part.

I got those centre caps to, there a lot better then standard hey! Looking good :D

They are really well made actually. For the price thwy suprised me. Cheers.

I got one of those, not sure if it's better then standard as it was fitted just before I bought it but it doesn't seem to leak, got the yellow spring in mine.

Should hopefully be better. It says its an improvement on the standard. Mine will be having the yellow spring fitted straight away.

My Forge 008 arrived today. All fitted and tested albeit in the garage but all working as it should be.
Also took off my front grilles outside surround to paint Satin black. No pics yet but its going well. Happy days.

O hai

Nice car [B)]

I was really worried about it when I sold it to whoever that guy was. Young Brummie lad who showed up to buy it mob-handed with 3 mates. He wasn't a great driver and he diddled me out of £50 as well! I must have mis-counted under the pressure.

I honestly thought the car was a gonner, glad to see it back on here although I don't frequent this forum at all any more I will subscribe to this.

Thanks EmDee. I read your whole thread and was so glad to read it was well looked after. There is some service history after you sold it, Looked after by Awesome GTi so the guy can't have been too much of a numpty.
Cheers for the comment.

Since the last update I have driven the car with the dv on. Glad to report all is good. Nice noise from it and the car feels just as solid if not a little better over the standard Bosch.

Also sprayed my heat shield black and put different edging on it. Looks 100x better.

Also finished of my centre badge revamp

Then on Thursday I decided the wing badges were letting the car down so I set to work on those

Wing was cleaned and polished but was still looking like this

Upon closer inspection it would appear the nearside wing has been given an extra layer of paint and lacquer but... rather than remove the badge they masked it up leaving an 'R' indent!!!!!

Ended up like this after a major session on it

Offside was fine and came up well.

So I have ordered two new badges for the wing which I will lacquer before they go on the car. Shame really as I fancied debadging the wings.

Door seals next, just waiting on my pry tools and I'll be using the guide from here hopefully if the weather is good next week.

Also going to order my wheel spacers. Decided on 12mm front and 17mm rear. :)

Liking what you've doing with the S badge, might have to try something on my own

Cheers. It really is quite easy. As I said before it just takes a bit of time getting the grill off without breaking any clips. After that it's simple.
