Hi,

VAG-COM doesnt seam to fine a label file when im on the engine section of measuring blocks. For most other blocks it does fine a label file.

Has anybody created a label file for this engine or know a label file which can work for it?

Ill post this in the Leon Mk2 specific forum too so apologies to mods or anybody else about the copy postings.

Thanks,
Stuart

Hi Dan,

Ive got ver 409.1. I got it from eBay and the seller was very insistant i dont try and upgrade via the web as it would stop the cable working. Wasnt sure if this was a less official cable or software, it all works other than the engine label file.

The software still identifies things as "idle rpm" with "rpm" units and "battery voltage" etc. But i am unable to show VC-graph or use the save or advanced measuring block function.

Going through the documention, this seams to come from the lack of label file.

Also, not sure if its related, but even in turbo mode, the sample rate is not going higher than 4-5/sec. Perhaps my car doesnt have the correct controller which allows the high speed logging.

The fact that it's the egay cable is ur problem...VC is currently on ver804 which is vastly improved from ur version...If u try and update ur cable, it WILL stop working due to the firmware version of the cable...

So im quite out of date.

Do you know if its possible for the cable firmware to be updated?

Thanks,
Stuart

Hi,

Im a blitering idiot, the software version which was shipped with the cable was 805 so i am on the current version.

Not sure why the seller told me several times thinks like:

"Do NOT attempt to update the Firmware or Software EVEN when prompted, also please disconnect from internet when installing and using, as this will cause the interface to STOP working, rendering it useless"

-and-

"Please follow guidelines on use ie: Do NOT use whilst connected to Internet, Do NOT attempt to UPDATE as this will render cable useless, We have tested the cable prior to sending out, Using the cable wrong (updating, internet) WILL stop cable from working as we have already tested before on other cables"
