Lol

Er, my hoon seems to have been a little "intermittant" since last year, and has now stopped working, only thing is, it works when i arm/disarm my alarm??

Are there two horns?? If not, would i be correct in presuming there is a dodgy connection behind the steering wheel?
If this is the case, how easy/hard is it to get to the connection to sort it out - my friend is an auto electrician so will be getting him to do it if possible

On the earlier leons there was TWO horns, one for normal toot-tooting and one for the alarm.

Have a look under the car - between the passenger side wheen and the front bumper.

Easy way to test is to swap the plugs around.... remembering that your alarm will be very quiet if it goes off!!!!!!.

Surrey darling...
I thought the alarm had a seperate horn/bell to the main horn and in most cases it's not active unless VAG-COM'd...

My guess is you've lost the horn and should look into horn replacement therapy at your local stealers or via your 'freind'

LMFAO

Right, i'll have a look at the weekend to see if i have two, my alarm was re-programmed as such so it now gives two little gay sounds when armed lol

When i first bought the car nearly two years ago the horn wasn't working well then but the MOT garage i took it too had supposdely fixed it :censored:

Update, i had a mate of mine have a quick test of the hooter, the contacts in my steering wheel appear to be, and the horn worked on a couple of occassions, he reckons it could be my relay, could this be the case, and if so which one is it??

Take the horns off the car if theres a nut and bolt in the middle loosen and do it back up but not too tight you could also spray some wd40 into it or give it a tap with a hammer.
The internals of the horn need to vibrate if they are stuck or seized this wont happen hence not noise.
The conections on the horns can also corroad
Also if you have got 2 horns and they still dont work try swaping them round.
Most car horns are universal so you may be able to get them from any good car accesory shop.
I had this on my old car and doing this fixed it
Hope this is of help to you :)

Thanks hun, but i'm thinking it may be relay, i can hear a clicking, plus they are on and off all the while. My mate who's a Lexus Technician is servicing the car on wednesday and checking it all over, will let you know what it turns out to be as he also suggested relay

I suspect the horn itself is dead. Its a known weak point as its mounted low down in front of the left wheel arch and hence gets subjected to a bit of road spray. If the weather down your way's been anything like up here recently it could well have caused its demise. Can get them for ~£10 from Halfords - just need to cut the wires off and connect/solder in. Easy for your mate to do.

Cheers Johnny but how can it be dead if it works one day and not the next, then a week or so later its working totally fine again. My mate sat there the other week testing the contacts in the stearing wheel and it was working for ages, but could hear the relay clicking, then the forn stopped again several days later. The horn also works when i set the alarm, or is this a second horn??

This damn car is getting on my nerves now, lambda sensor gone, faulty wiring on the air bag under the passenger seat, rear brake light working when it feels like it, a complementary paddling pool in the rear that some T*** has tried fixing badly, and a really irritating reverberating noise in the rear that we can't figure out where the hell it's coming from :(
