hi all i have a couple of quick questions re fmic....

1. what is holding the cooler in place? screws? bolts?
2. where is the best place to get the metal tube section?

i have everything ready to go this weekend so any advice would be greatly apreciated.

thanks guys

i went to my local exhaust specialists and got a bit of 51mm exhaust pipe, works bang on..

mine is wedged between rad and crash bar but i'll probably make some sort of bracket that runs upto the bonnet catch just for piece of mind..

The cooler is wedged between the radiator and the crash bar mate.

Not sure about where to get the pipe from tho as my kit came with it

i havent looked at this yet, but is it quite secure like this? is it worth using a couple of bolts to keep it in place or will it stay there no problem?

cheers

well when i was fitting mine i was a bit sceptical of just leaving the intercooler wedged, just incase it was to fall at all... there is 4 little kinda loops at the top of the intercooler when u hang it, i put a cable tie through these just for a bit of extra security incase it did fall..

i will post up pics when i get the chance

when i did mine i just used teh little hold on the cooler and cable tied it to the holes on teh 2 diaganl bars on the front. hasent moved abit since fitted.

o and got the metal pipe from ebay.

1. Bolted at the top, it wasnt for a while and was too low, used to knock it getting it out the garage

2. dont know - ebay?

do it properly like this! i used two L shaped brackets that hook under the intercooler and it sits in them and then just pinch the top of the intercooler with the screws that hold the brackets on with big washers it is well sterdy plus the pipes hold it 2, might take longer but alot better job in my opinion!!!

the crash bar is hollow, so i drilled out the spot welds that held the the back plate on, if you look at the left hand i have chopped it a little to just over the E of the revo cos the a/c rad is at a slant then i riveted a new back plate on from just where the E is, filled all the sharp edges then sprayed black so it looks stock, does take longer but you retain the strengh to if any mishaps happen!!!!!

ive done my pipework diffent to mate, its alot of work if you want to do it properly and gettin it central is a choir, i also shaved some off my toeing eye 2, just enough so when you screw it down it clamps it 2! yep if you need any advise and pics of my pipewrk let us know, thats the best pic i have of the front, you cant really see my brackets that well!!!
