Has anyone with a late 2009 Ibiza 1.4 S/C SE , got a copy of the BCM ( Module 09 Cent. Elect.) long coding, ie a copy of a scan, I'm trying to work out if the coding is correct on daughter's Ibiza - is 24 88 29 E8 88 61 01 00 00 20 00 00 7E 0B 1C C8 00 40 40 0F 60 8C 00 00 20 00 N/A N/A N/A N/A .

Thanks, I realise any different options fitted will alter this as this car only has heated/folding mirrors.

Cant help with the hex keys you've listed but a dealership will be able to check the coding via SVM and make any adjustments that may be needed. out of interest for what reason do you suspect the coding is wrong?

I'm getting bored with this car discharging its battery is left unused for more than 5 days! Ibiza 1.4 S/C from a build period of late 2009 do have a bad name for having incorrect coding of their BCM which leads to this problem, but Seat dealers ignore all that and I'd probably need Seat UK to search back and give my dealer the information of what was being done on demand back then. The only place that I have found any reports of this was in an RAC related car forum. I know that I will need to pay for the BCM getting "reflashed" but what else can I do, it might not be the BCM coding that is wrong, maybe it is the BCM's own software that is wrong.

My first stab at this is to try to confirm that other Ibizas of the same age etc have the same coding, which should be possible for a forum like this one as many people do have VCDS.

Hi, thanks very much, I'll print that out and compare with mine, then if necessary get back to you if it looks like you have or have not some common options different from daughter's car!

The car is an absolutely standard 1.4SE 4 door hatch UK spec registered in October 09. If you want it I can send the complete scan file.

My car has no scan errors the only problem ive ever had is that 3 of the 4 window winder motors have failed and were replaced by me using second hand units bought of eBay.

Ah, now you have spoilt it by letting slip that your car is a 5 door, I was just going to tell you that I had worked out that:- your car is 5 door with electric windows front and rear and has cruise control! Other than that, there are two bits sets that I can't account for (Byte 2 bit 1, and Byte 17 bit 6) though you also have an extra two "sub systems" over what is in daughter's Ibiza S/C, and maybe these two extra set bits and these two extra sub systems are related and due to that car having rear electric windows and cruise control.

So no outrageous differences really, though I'm guessing that your car was built before daughter's car as quite a lot of the part numbers etc are higher in her car. I know for a fact that her car was reg'd November 2009 and it was in transit when she picked it.

I'm guessing that you have never ever had the terrible "battery discharges if car is not used for more than 5 days" - I think that only ever got reported for late 2009 build cars and only the S/C versions, though I can't explain why that could be, though it seems to be the case. This problem has not been reported very well in this forum, though if you used the car daily or almost daily, you would not know that that issue existed.

Anyway, thanks again for helping me out, it is just a case of working through everything and then trying to force the local Seat dealer to talk to Seat UK about reflashing the BCM as maybe it is the management S/W for that module that is suspect, originally it was thought that incorrect coding might have been the issue, but what her car has ties in with the BCM coding. I have heard that if you hand it in for investigation, the first thing that they do is replace the battery and give it back to you, which would be a pain in the bottom as I can do that a lot cheaper, but the battery does seem to be good, ie holds its charge very well if disconnected from the car for 10 days, when discharged, takes a serious bit of charging to get it back to fully charged then the charger just "ticks over". Though maybe I will need to replace the battery if only to stop Seat dealer doing that, unfortunately the other two cars in the driveway have stop/start or much bigger smarter batteries, so I can't even swop them over!!

I'm guessing that you know that your car, like her one, has the "Emergency Flashing" (Turn Signals) and "Emergency Brake Flashing" (Brake Light) activated - though you would probably need the following car driver to tell you that - that is if you ever have had to stand on the anchors!!

Your analysis is absolutely correct. The original battery died a couple of years ago and was replaced with a Bosch 5 star battery which does not suffer any noticable discharge even when the car is not driven for several weeks.

The only strange thing that happens is that the radio will read "BATTERY LOW" if it is turned on first thing without the key in the ignition. Turn the ignition on and it goes away.
