Hey all,

Back again with more problems, typical!

Cars been running completely fine until I went to do a short journey earlier on today and a few things have come into the picture.

Firstly, airbag light on, will this just be a new sensor needed or could there be another issue?

Secondly, my speedo has suddenly decided to stop working. Fuel gauge, temperature and RPM is working fine but the speedo isn't doing a thing. Another sensor perhaps?

Lastly, I'm starting to experience a jolting/jerking movement when taking my foot off the accelerator when hitting boost. Isn't so bad with low Rev driving but the minute I pick up into boost and let off then the whole car jolts/jerks. Any ideas on this?

Car is a 2003 LC with 153k

Thanks

Air bag light, if you haven't done your inner door seals I think that's the problem there, the side impact sensors are under the front two carpets so if water is getting in you prob have knackered them and need to get new ones then use VCDS to turn the light off

And maybe ur abs sensor has gone, meaning speedo has stopped working, abs sensor works with the speedo also, it's on the left hand side of ur car on the back of the disc, very hard and annoying to change, I think I'll go with this fix mate as your speedo ain't working

The above would make sense actually because spontaneously, my ABS light along with my TC light come on every now and then. Would change the ABS sensor fix all the above excluding the jerking? Including the airbag light? Surely the two aren't connected?

If you unplug ur abs sensor it will stop the speedo working plus stop putting miles on your car, good thing if you don't wanna put miles on your car lol

I don't think it's worth the risk of going through a load of speed cameras without a speedo haha

Have you done ur inner door seals? Is ur carpets wet to touch? Open ur door in the front and on the door sill pull the black plastic part up and of, lift carpet up and stick ur hand under and have a feel, if wet ur sensors have gone

If ur speedo isn't working then ur miles shouldn't be going up

Behold, it's wet under the carpets. Airbag sensors a pain to change?

I'll have to do some research on changing the ABS sensor.

Any ideas about the other issue?

Also, just taken for a quick spin to see if problems persist and my fuel gauge keeps dropping? This must be linked to the speedo in some way?

Easy to change the sensors mate just undo the two torque screws on the runner of the chair and the two front nuts on front of the runner under the front of the chair then slide the chair right back, then take all the plastic you see on the sills all the way to the dead foot next to the accelerator pedal, once done juts bend the carpet back and u should see the sensor, they have two torque screws holding them in place. I'll try find photos when I done mine

Yeh the abs sensor like I said above change that and that will fix that problem with speedo.

Okay so I'll have to get the ABS sensor sorted because I can't really be without a speedo, I can live with the airbag light if I'm honest because it shouldn't cause any problems other than an annoyance (and obviously airbags won't deploy properly in an accident).

Any thoughts on the jerking of the car on deceleration?

No airbags will go off atol mate, abs sensor yeh get a new one of them, small Allen key to take it of but tell u you will struggle lol, jerking not to sure, coil packs, fuel filter blocked, could be a few things, fix those other first then see what's what

I'll get the ABS sensor done first, then I'll move onto the jerking situation and get the airbag light sorted once the rest of the car is working properly.

I'll get the car plugged into an OBD reader and see if anything comes up and go from there.

Thanks for the info mate

No probs mate anytime, and if your in need of any parts let me no, not the abs sensor tho lol need to be new as there so hard to take of they may snap.

UPDATE:

How's this for weird...?

Suddenly realised my reverse lights weren't working so I checked the fuse and it was burnt out...

Chucked a new 10A in the and now suddenly the speedo is working, and the car is no longer jerking.

This seems a coincidence too good to be true because surely the reverse light fuse will not have an impact on my speedo, or the engines workings.

I'm baffled

Lol wierd one for real lol, now just ur inner door seals to stop the rain water getting in ur car, then airbag sensors
