Hey guys,

Has anyone had an issue with their leon eating brake lights?

My car seems to be chewing through driver side brake light bulbs at an alarming rate, and I have no idea what I should be looking for to diagnose!

Any ideas? :(

There is a short somewhere if its blowing one bulb consistantly, il check the wiring near the plug for stipeed or bare wires, check condition of the plug, and the bulb holder its self, the over all condition of connections.

Sorry to bring this thread back, but my LCR is on its 3rd drivers side bulb in a week, did you find what the problem was? I can see any wire that's stripped and the tail light works ok?

Thanks

If I recall correctly...(the LCR was 2 cars ago now!) It was a lose connection with the bulb in the end. WHen I refitted the bulbs I don't think they sat perfectly, so either fell out or lost connection. For me, making 100% sure the bulb was firmly and securely seated seemed to solve the prob!

Just found this old thread, not sure if anyone can help, but for some reason one of my rear brake lights is out. I changed the bulb, and the tail light works, just not the brake light? The other brake light and spoiler brake light work, so I assume the fuse is fine and the brake light switch? I did have difficulty getting the bulb to sit correctly but I'm pretty sure it's in properly now. Any suggestions?

I'm pretty sure it's the right bulb, same as the other side which works fine haha

I've checked the fuses and they all seem fine, does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks
