LCR Blowing

HELP!!!!!!!!
On the way to taking my car for the tints doing i over took a car and all of a sudden there was a massive blowing coming from the front.

The turbo etc is all working fine but its just blowing really badly from the front, haven`t had time to even check where its coming from or whats causing it cause the cars still getting its tints done.

It was instant asthough something has just gone and not got worse over time, any ideas or has this happened to anyone else,

You are talking about exhaust blowing?

It'll either be the exhaust manifold > turbo gasket or turbo > downpipe gasket.

check all your intercooler pipes

Found the prob now just need some help in finding what it / should be there?

on the manifold just below the actuator arm there is a flat egg shape on the manifold and in the centre of this flat bit i`m guessing i should have some sort of a bolt in? mine doesn`t and this is where the serious blowing is coming from, it looks about M12 ish? could someone help please and let me know whats dropped out

I'm guessing that'd be one of the sensors?

at a guess could it be the pre-cat lamda sensor?

No mate the pre cat sensor is a lot bigger than that and is located on the downpipe mate , i`m really done mate not a clue what it is or should be????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

a bit dark now but i`m sure i can get one fixed in the morning and pop it on, was hoping to go to the Leeds meet tommorrow but don`t look like thats happening now!!

Sound like you're missing a manifold > turbo bolt. I hope it hasn't snapped.

They are M10

Don`t think it is , there is def nowt snapped looks like its just dropped out, tried an M10 in the hole but wasn`t big enough, think its about M12 ish, it blows like a bitch but when i put my finger over it stops blowing

Turbo is bolted to exhaust manifold with 3 M10 x 50 bolts. How many bolt heads can you see?

Could it be the sensor from the back of the turbo mate....looks in that area.

I had full turbo back system fitted recently and shortly thereafter, whilst driving home, the car started to sound like a spitfire coming in to land....very embarassing ...thought it was the turbo to downpipe gasket..(I had re-used the 'old' one)..

Was in buying a new gasket and spoke to the foreman at the dealership..he had a look and confirmed it was the aformentioned sensor that had come loose - it apparantly screws in..

pity...I had already bought the replacement gasket

Don't discount it mate...that little hole looks exactly in the area where mine was blowing from.

yeah I've had the same thing happen too, funnily enough after having my blueflame fitted

its the EGT sensor I think, if you look really closely at the back of the engine bay you'll probably see a steel braided cable just hanging loose

Well gents your both right,went up to my mates and checked on his audi tt and it turned out to be a sensor, arrived home and checked and there the little Bast**d was dangling quite happily!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Popped him in and away i went , i fitted a full TB Blueflame about 6 weeks ago, wonder why this is happening??
