lcr brake pads an disks

hi guys its time to change my disks on front of my car i have been llooking at these ..... what you think an has anyone used redstuff pads with drilled disks? im lookin at these on ebay

not sure were on it when brought it. Disks have a really big lip an pads are low so wanting somethin better. You used red stuff.

Red stuff are a bit sh1t from what i've heard. Ferodo ds2500s are the best imo. I have the grooved version of that CRN disc on my lcr; i've heard drilled disks can crack due to the temperatures generated in the disc, and the holes providing weak spots.

ok i will have a look at groved....i seen some drilled on a m3 today an thought they looked nice.... has anyone on here had drilled an if so did you have any problems? i will also have a look at the ferodo ds2500s....

bill at badger 5 (ibizacupra on here) does good prices on ds2500s; and also crn on ebay are pretty good.

iirc crn discs originate from ebc discs which are then machined with grooves, or drilled

Im using brembo discs, ferodo ds2500 pads with mutol brake fluid and its spot on. Stops me on a dime

Big difference between drilled and cast though, drilled are way more likely to crack.

CRN are EBC plain disks grooved.

Ultimax are a quieter, less grooved version from EBC themselves. These are good disks also.
I do not advise ebc redstuff pads, too high wear on disks, and not that great a stopping power either. DS2500's far better pads, for same kind of money

I fitted EBC standard disks on my LCR back in August 2008, they have already warped!!!! . (very noticeable judder above 60). Only covered 2000 miles, and believe me, the car has NOT been driven hard. (usually have the kids in the back!)

They were bought from ebcbrakesdirect.com, a long with Red Stuff pads. The pads themselves are not great. Although they work much better that stock pads, they are very noisy and only seem to work well when warmed up.

Overall, very very disappointed with EBC stuff, I would never use them again.

The problem I found is, there is much choice out there when it comes to replacing LCR front brake disks, would you agree?

I would imagine the pads are to blame for the warped discs; my ebc discs have been fine with ds2500 pads.

running the same setup here with motul 640 fluid and having no issues.

great setup once everything is bedded in correctly!!

setup was suggested and provide by badger5 for a realy reasonable price.

I suggest before scrapping these try a proper bedding in process again to see if the problem you have is just pad pick up. As you describe I would doubt if it is warped discs.
