Taking out the back box? if you did this it would be way too loud (you would get tuged every five min). You would also need to fill over the standard whole and bend the pipes round to the center which isnt good but its do-able

The Cupra r has a center silencer which could be replaced with a straight piece of tubeing. The rear back box is quite large and does a good job of sound surpressing. I wouldn't even consider running without a back box as u will regret it. Removing the center section should sound good but u will need the large OEM backbox to remain.

i think he means taking just the centre box out. Most aftermarket systems have a replacement pipe for these anyway, so shouldnt be too loud.

As mork pointed out supersprint do a straight through center section as do miltek. I was considering on of these for my miltek but as no one has done it i was not sure if it was overly loud.

Your best bet would be a supersprint as it is the same diameter as the standard system.

To be houest i rekon it would be quite hard to do. As adapting the supersprint center section to the oem exhaust will be difiicult as the oem is on peice.

You would have to chop it on the straight just before the axle, if you want to reuse the oem back box. And to join them together requires a seleve to be inserted and welded into one of the pipes.

Just get a cat back system for the sake of a couple of hundred quid.

Wow this is an old thread but looked into having back box cut off on
My LCR as not bothered about performance but just want more noise. But looks like center section is going to be my best bet to have cut out as i dont have a couple hundred or even £100 to throw at exhaust mods.
