Did this last night, got the turbo off and sent it off to Midland Turbo for a nice rebuild!

This is actually a really easy job, if not a little long winded. Didn't even have to take off the driveshaft! Though I might have to take it off when it comes to refitting!

Actually not a job I would really want to do a lot, but I was slightly worried after reading all the threads on the net. Only took about 1 and a half hours.

So anyone thinking about doing it, don't be scared! Just try take your time! :)

It isn't that bad to do just remember new gaskets and oil/water crush washers when you reinstall it and prime the oil chamber.

I just disconnected the down pipe to the Cats, took off the exhaust hanger on the subframe, then detached the 3 bolts to the exhaust manifold, and the hole thing moved backwards, then just tied the turbo up so it didn't flop all over the place. Takes ages to get the top one off as you can only move your ratched a few degrees, but it is actually really easy!

I've got all new gaskets, rebuilt turbo on its way and all new crush washers, and all of it's from the main dealer, bar the turbo rebuild! So it will be perfect once done! :)
