Everyday Im Shufflin'
Hi all, i'm quite new to the forum so sorry if i'm posting this in the wrong part, i have an LCR and i am looking into cleaning up the enigine bay a bit, i wanted to get the charge pipe polished up but i can't really afford to have the downtime on the car so i was kind of hoping that there may be someone that either have a spare one that i could look into buying off them or someone who would do it on an exchange + cash basis? :)
I hav'nt really looking into polishing it myself but if people tell me its not that hard a job i might have a go myslef
Any help is much appeciated :)

you could also take it off and paint it as well just another thing to think about.

If i were to go down that route would hammerite be suitable? or would i need a special high temperature paint? also would you just rub it down with wire wool to get a key for the paint? I hav'nt completely decided with the look yet so open to options :D cheers

Not if your spraying it with high temp paint It won't need rubbing , due to it being a rough finish the paint sticks well , obv if your going to polish it then you no best mr scrubber :)

Also i am looking into getting the Manifold polished too match the Charge pipe - any help/ideas? I know that taking it off is the best thing - and i know that i will have to buy a new gasket (for what 99p of fleabay) but anyone done it before? or should i just buy some "chrome looking" paint from halfrauds haha

Autosol and a polishing wheel on a drill - I did a rocker cover that way on my Glanza. A dremel with a small polishing wheel will help for any nooks and crannies.

The rocker cover had been painted before I bought it, so I did use paint stripper on it before hand.

Yeah iv got a Dremel and various polishing wheels - this is what i was thinking in the first place, no real need to remove is there?

Why don't you just give Dk 50 quid and your old charge pipe and get a polished one be loads easier and cheaper

What about the manifold too? As it would look even better to have a Charge Pipe polished and have a matching Manifold :)
I could of course give DK the pipe and £50, but i also like to do things myself too

Found this on fleabay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Audi-S3-TT-1-...&otn=4&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=5689933457029222444
then i can crack out my Dremel and have a go!
Just need a second hand manifold now - i live near Silverlake car scrap yard, so might get looking in there for a seat/vw/audi or if anyone knows anyone whos written of theres or anything....
