on the LCR where the charge pipe bolts on at the turbo end there looks like there is some sort of silencer fitted. i've just won another one on a well known interweb auction site for £26 to have a mess about with (complete with turbo hose attached, bargain!) anyway, is there anything inside the silencer that can be removed or does anybody think it is worth chopping the silencer off and getting that part fabricated out of tubing then welded back on?

Feels bling pipes started off as silencer bypass. He welded in a sleeve over the "holed" area inside the pipe. Im sure theres still some pics up of what he did.

Did anything ever come of these pipes Scotty/Feel?

Were there any proven gains with them and what benefits did they offer?

I had one fitted and the car sounded a bit better and there were minor improvements from fitting one. Most people bought them for the Bling Factor as Feel had them done in mirror finish.

Power was sustained slightly higher in the rev range if I recall........it was a small improvement but I could tell when it was done

how hard would it be to remove the silencer and have a new bit of pipe welded in to replace it? or as said by scotty just block that bit from the inside? i've seen another pipe other than feel's fron a place called backdraft motorsport but they are made for their BT conversions.

That seems like a fair bit of work for the benefit gained, I bought mine for the bling as much as anything.

I think the money and time can be better spent elsewhere on the car;-
Shrtshifter
Dog Bone Mount
etc

but it's up to you

I have one of Feel's chargepipes which I am going to be selling. Its the brushed finish, not the mirrored one, and comes with the new clamps to take the larger pipe girth.

All the aftermarket parts of my LCR will be appearing in the For Sale section in the next couple of weeks.

Did you have problems with the intercooler hose slipping off the pipe?

The standard pipe has a shoulder on it at the bottom, feel's pipe doesn't.

Coxw, i may be intersted if there is no fitting issues:)

If your car is older / higher mileage you want to take care with the rubber hose between the turbo and the chargepipe as I'm sure I read that some guy with a TT had a split in his (was it Wak). Whether it gets brittle with the heat. Other than that I had no problems.

The industrial double jubilee clip trick held it fast.

so far i've got;
ramair induction kit,
007p dv,
forge TIP,
forge top intercooler hoses,
forge shortshifter,
S3 strutbrace,
forge shiny caps.

i'll be getting a remap soon along with dog-bone bushes so i thought a nice blinging pipe would be nice!

is your pipe an exact swap for the original? are the DV outlets still there or is yours for a re-located DV? and more importantly......... how much are you looking for it?
