Got limp mode after the above logs after driving gently for 20 mins.

1 Fault Found:
17705 - Pressure Drop between Turbo and Throttle Valve (check D.V.!)

Good logs, Chris.

I can't see much wrong with them. Everything pretty much as it should be. What's your seat of the pants impression of the car on the runs?

The limp mode is perplexing - The ecu thinks it's measuring more air at the maf than is arriving in the cylinders.......

The fuelling is fine - actual meeting requested. Adaptation isn't miles out.

I don't think you should be booting it in a higher gear from 2k anyway - I'd say 2.5k - you're going to pick up some CFs by increasing cylinder temps booting it lower down the range. Try doing some power runs from 2.5k.

Car felt really good after I changed the mani to DV hose with a full 4mm ID section.

I took the throttle body off and cleaned, used VAGCOM to calibrate it.

During them logs I did think, wow, car feels to pull very nicely. maybe i'm just used to the low down torque of my old TDI. I wonder if the APR map I have is concentrating on better high power than low down thrust.

Just dont know why it keeps going to limp mode now. Would you run the yellow or green spring on mine?

Weird!!

I'd say the APR map maybe isn't written to provide torque at 2k rpm. Seriously, change your tdi driving style. :D

I'd run a yellow spring. I keep thinking minor boost leak or over-reading maf........

De-screened MAF?

I'm doing to put the screen back in it tomorrow.

Possibly.....

Chris as a comparison, I couldn't boot my BT Leon below 3500 rpm and keeping it on the boild through the gears at 3750 min was much better. You can't expect power at 2000 rpm - what you'll get is heat in the cylinders - exacerbated if you're using 97 ron or lower.

OK, thanks very much for looking at my logs Dave. Glad that huge power dip has gone now.

I'll go back to Yellow spring too, put my green one up for sale. :)

Cheers Dave, I owe you some beers (or methanol if you go crazy again!!)

No you don't Chris, it's always a pleasure to help you if I can. :)

No more limp mode.

Do not de-screen your MAF! (hides head in shame!)

No need to hide your head, there's a big ongoing discussion over this. I've always felt it shouldn't be done and in my mind, your example is a proof that it gives a false reading.

Well I got limp mode on the way to work, pulled over and restarted. Limp mode came again after another 5 mins of driving.

Parked up at work, took MAF out at dinnertime and put the screen back in. Went for a 20-30 min drive using full boost/partial boost/no boost and no limp mode.

Drove home as I drive to work and no limp mode.

So it must be the MAF screen that did it. I've not changed anything else.

:D happy days!
