My car had a misfire this morning so I checked vag-com and found fault code 16395

Rosstech said it could be the Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 (N205) being faulty

Is this the cam chain tensioner? I didnt know these had a chain which links up the 2 cams untill today?

I also have had a small rattle on start up since I bought the car and it mainly does it when the weather is cold Im now thinking it could be the tensioner!!
Video here is may car last winter

Any ideas on what it could be?

Camshaft sensor in the side of your engine 5min fix mate, cost £35 for the part I think

Possible Causes

Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 (N205) faulty
Fuel Pump Relay (J17) faulty
Mechanical Timing not correct, including Chain and/or Belt timing.

Possible Solutions

Check Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 (N205)
Check Fuel Pump Relay (J17)
Check Mechanical Timing

( stolen from another site, Google is useful you know..)

If you've got yourself a cold start up rattle, then it would suggest lack of tension on the chain. I'd look to replace the whole tensioner unit.

Trust me, I know, I've also pulled the same code today! Along with...

17536, 17511, 16514, 17956, 16684 and 16687.

Basically, I need a new lambda and a new vvt tensioner

I've just changed my mates B1 S1 today came of in a sec was panicking it maybe stuck with the heat, also fixed his sticky calipers, massive difference once you change those lambdas,
