LCR Metal Foot Rest help

Hi guys I bought the nice R foot rest to slap on top of the existing one. Question is how do I take off the foot rest in order to get the bolts through? Any experience welcome.

Remove the plastic clip at the top and then you can yank it out to drill it for the bolts.
