LCR Seized engine!!!...Advise needed

Well car is now parked up in storage until I decide whether to fix it or break it !!!...gutted, bought a Zafira gsi turbo which has the Z20LET engine in for now
Gunna sleep on it for now cause its too good to break...baby's due any day now so my mind is on her atm...JBS have messed me about for weeks and still not got back to me with a quote...Jabba want between 3600-4100 for a uprated rebuilt engine fitted and that's if I've no head damage...Awesome quoted 2200 for a 2nd hand engine fitted and local Seat dealer want 1200 just to change engine for one I supply!!!...all quotes inc taking my engine out
I know Dan....them prices are utter madness I.rebuilt mine full with rods and uprated valves all.in for £1130......

There seems to be more and more occasions of remapped LC/LCR's going pop, even my standard LC snapped a rod but that had done 150k miles.......
It makes me cringe when i hear these prices for rebuilt engines......Hmmm maybe i should start a business rebuilding 1.8t engines and fitting rods.
If you don't have the knowhow to Rebuild the engine then buy one complete from INA / Integrated Engineering... I would spend 10 quid on a genuine elsawin seat leon repair manual offof ebay and read up.
Maybe with the help of some friends / manual you could get the engine out, and new one in.
Really hope you sort it bud, hate to see a lcr getting broke just for the engine.

Prices are a joke m8, was quoted 795 just for a bare block...I didn't know INA did built engines...and don't want to break it, love it, was trying to get it sorted in a short time before baby comes, but was stressing me out so bought a bus lol...hoping to make it my project for next summer...just upped some more pics to my album on my profile
I was contemplating an uprated one pal from them, Then rang them for quote on full job doing, They were about same prices as Jabba or dearer for doing full job so I ain't spending 3500+...Going to take my time and search and research

i was PLANNING on remapping my LC to 220+bhp with viezu after a cambelt/water pump change but after hearing this, il hold off. OP.... if you were closer to west mids, id get and help you rebuild your LCR. ive had an engine rebuild done on my back on my friends drive on an alfa 156... its a job n half.v good luck to u pal.

i got elsawin 3.6 and even with the instructions its a ball ache to install. you know you cant use the vin to look up your car yeh?? u need to select your car manually... my elsawin is for vw as used to have mk4 golf, but gonna order a seat and skoda version next as work on these every day and as not a main dealer we dont have access to them. and the seat bit is gonna be ideal for me at home too
