Hello

i am going to give my LCR a bit of a service on saturday, i am planning on doing the oil and filter and the sump washer (as suggested by the bloke i just rang at seat..lol)

can anyone tell me the part number on the filter? is it the same one as the 180bhp cupra one?

what else is worth doing?

the car has had... recent cambelt including water pump with brass impaller, all the coil changes done due to them being a common fault (so i was told)

the one thing i wanted to do was clean the breather id possible but i am not sure where it is, could any post a pic or a detailed description of what to do??

i also have noticed a tiny bit of play as i go over bumps etc which i was told was the wishbone bushes, are these hard to change myself? any idea of cost etc etc??

thanks in advance for your help and my appologies if any of my questions seem are a bit numpty..lol

Head down to your local Eurocarparts for service bits usually very good prices and original or quality parts. Whether they are the same as the cupras - highly likely but double check.

whats the mileage? id always do the plugs ever 20k if platinums, coolant 2-5 years, brake fluid bleed 2-3 years, fuel filter 20k, air filter 10k, pollen filter 10k. check discs and pads, wipers and the list could go on but id say there the main ones

Wishbones around £35 each but check them first for play and they arent bad just dont bother buying merely the bush its far more time economical to change the whole wishbone that has prefitted bushes.

Breather pipe is probably after the MAF sensor after the air box should be a small pipe joing the main one the maf and air filter are inline with.

that is brilliant mate, so far i can just feel a little bit of play as i go over speed bumps etc, but under heavy braking it does not pull either way or anything so i guess i am ok for now, how much is the whole wishbone?

alot of what you said had just been done on the service when i got it, so will check to see what milage they have done and see what needs doing, the car has done 95k

thanks for all the help mate much appreciated

lol its £35 for the whole wishbone although thats what i paid for mine on a mk4 golf but i doubt it would be loads more. The play could be in many of the steering/suspension components if your not sure ask a garage and they will stick a pry bar and check for movement/worn bushes etc
