LCR Servicing in the NorthWest

Can anyone recommend a good independent garage to service my LCR in the Bolton, Manchester or even Stockport areas? I don't want to take it back to a SEAT dealer, only to be ripped off again! I've taken it to Stockport (SEAT) and Bury (SEAT) in the past. Stockport in particular, were completely useless and expensive!

Cheers!

Servicing and garages

Looking for a good place to post a msg and this seems pretty close, even though it's a bit of an old thread...

Recently moved to the east of Manchester and was hunting around for a decent indy. Partly through this site and partly through others I found out about Volksmaster ( www volksmaster com). They're just outside of Oldham so perfect location for me.

I have an Ibiza 1.9 TDi Sport (03) and needed a few bits doing, including a service. I called and the prices seemed decent so booked it in that day (Monday). The place was pretty compact and busy and the guys seemed genuine and helpful. They even dropped me back up the road into Oldham while they worked on my car.

The service was just shy of £140 plus vat, so £166 all in. My other jobs were a front spring (thanks pot holes!) with top strut mount, coolant bottle with cap and a reverse light switch. Parts and fitting on these 3 jobs came to a few quid short of £150, not too bad I think.

They are a VAG specialist but also go by the name New Life. While they had my car they gave it a good look over and came back with an advisory "to do" list which included a CV boot and a wishbone bush splitting, plus some fluids and little bits I will prob do myself.

I'll give them a call back for these other 2 jobs as well as ask for an MOT price so I'll post the details up when I know more.

While I'm at it, I used to live more over to the north west of Manchester and used PPS Tyres in Bolton ( www ppstyresandexhausts co uk ). Another great little place and I'll be calling them again soon for my front pads and discs.

I've used them quite a few times for tyres, suspension and brakes and they've been consistently cheaper than others but with good, honest service. My girlfriend has a Toyota Yaris and took advantage of Kwik Fit's MOT/Service combo deal. They told her she needed pads and discs. I can't remember the exact prices, but what I do remember is that PPS were virtually half the price so we politely said no to the Kwik Fit guys.

Hope this info helps. Take care on the roads!
