You're right in your thoughts.
Buying a LCR is expensive and so is running one but its all nothing compared to modding one. I hate to think what I have spent on mine. This has been over a long period of time not like how some people do it. All worth it when the horns are on and you have a full tank of petrol to WASTE!!

i've had both petrol and diesel cars in the past, yes i did like the diesel economy (52 reg 1.5 td clio used to return nearly 80mpg on a careful motorway journey) and i had a 1996 BMW 525i 24v, it used to be a job to get that thing into double figures MPG but it was fun. I love the power delivery from a turbo'd car. I've always been a petrol head and always will be after spending my childhood messing about with cars with my dad and spending my life in scrap yards.

Remember peak torque isn't all that helpful either as most cars have a 'torque-multiplier' that actually changes the amount of torque at the wheels (also called a gearbox).
More important is the shape of the torque curve and the power that is generating from it (by multiplying the torque by engine speed).
It's magazines like Autocar that started all this by quoting the torque figures and torque per tonne, which is all rather useless when you're using a gearbox (it'd be a different story in cars only had one gear). They'd be better off showing the torque/power curves as their much more useful.
Anyway, because of this people now talk about how they can waft along on the torque and that diesels accelerate faster because they have more torque.

same as my LC only the initial outlay is less.
Pounds well spent though just for the grin factor and noise . Wasting hi octane fuel brings a smile every time
go for it mate just last week i swapped my FR for a LCR and the verdict is never going back to the FR staying on the dark side
