LED DRl's

They look like a cheap strip from Halfords or any other motor factors.

If it's the 'yellow' colour you want to get rid of from your OEM DRL bulbs then just buy some LED ones - need to fiddle with the polarity but it's an easy job and i'd be happy to explain.

Did this on my previous 'R' and will be doing it to my new one on Saturday before I leave the dealership.

Yeah, they look pretty ugly. I've seen someone here with DRLs that are actually a grill that you replace the stock one with so you wouldn't have to drill holes or w.e. There is also a member here with one that is like three strips above each other. I'll look for his profile and link you, I sure hope he doesn't mind.

Thanks for the comments guys. I've just bought some LED sidelights to see how they look.

Yer they do look like a cheap strip form halfords. For the price of strips I would have thought they were a proper job in the cluster or something.

Cheers again Rob

Yer sorry the DRL lights are what I meant lol. Yer bought some on eBay from a link shown on one of the threads. Got some LED sidelights already, so hopefully the DRL LED llights will finish the look off. Will have to post picture up once all the lights are in :)

Yes I do mind!!!! ;)

I think the DRL's from Seat look rubbish, as everyone says, just like the stuff from Halfrauds. I'd look at doing some bespoke DRL's for the standard cupra vents like my BTCC ones (which I have now perfected and look even better). If anyone is local to me and wants to pop over I can have a look and come up with some design ideas!?!?!

Yeah, bit of a bummer but tomorrow I will be buying another one so its not all bad.

When you fit them, don't panic if they don't work first time - just drop me a pm because you have to change some wires over, its an easy job.

I really hope no one spoils their Cupra R by fitting any type of DRLs, they look horrendous.

Rob, is the cupra grille the same as the FR?! I see ur in Solihull which is where I happen to work! Be happy to meet?!

I've got a K1 so not sure to be honest!...happy to meet up to discuss options? I'm about to make another BTCC set this week so you can see how it is done and I can have a look at your grill so I can get some ideas? Drop me a PM when you get time? Also, where abouts do you work?

What improvements have you made rob? I'm redoing mine soon, just got some proper 501 bulb holders so I can replace any failed bulbs easily, also buying some tubing to hold bulbs/holders.

This is what is blocking my progress. Trying to find a good way to get some kind of weatherproof casing around the bulbs, while still keeping it replaceable.

I have added power connectors so that I can disengage each vent unit.

Hope to come up with something soon
