LED sidelight bulbs that actually last?

Anyone found any LED 501 bulbs that actually last?

I have tried 5 SMD LED cluster type, 5 normal LED type... the lot. None of them seem to last 10 minutes!
I have some LED registration plate bulbs and they have been fine, no problems!

So any idea's?

Ive had the 4 LED 501 bulbs from halfruds, and theyve lasted for over a year now.

I've had PIAA twin LED bulbs in for 3 years now, no problems as of yet Fairly expensive for sidelights mind, but I'm sure you know the saying.. "buy cheap, buy twice"

I guess I'm going wrong with buying **** off eBay.

Okay... point proven, buy cheap, buy twice... or three times in my case.

I thought mine were good, they lasted from November but have both broken now so i have no sidelights atm!

The LED's melt themselves.

all ive done is buy cheap 1's from hongkong or somewhere round there.

99p lasted about tree months now and i have them on all the time. and at 99p who cares if they go after 3months

most LED's are only just rated for 12v operation.

Most cars put around 13 or 14v to the lights when the engine is running.

If you want the led's to last you need the more expensive ones that are rated for 9v to 16v operation.

One of my LED ones just melted, cheapo ebay job though - lasted a year mind!

I've got THESE, metal so they don't melt, and super bright.
