That part that fell off is a cable cover from under a seat

Ah right. I'll have a look. Cheers. Spent most of the day wrestling with the oil filter. And respect to the garage who serviced it last and managed to cross thread the sump plug. That was fun!

Like the thread always good to see how to keep the car in tip top condition.

Hope your son is also getting involved to understand how to look after it properly.

Cheers. Thought it'd be nice for a change from remaps and rollbars. When I get round to things like calipers, discs, pads. I'll make one of my photo guides. And for anything else that might be useful in the future.

Hmmm, well one of us aches all over and is covered in cuts and bruises (from hitting myself in the head with the underbody shield). The other thought you can use a trolley jack to life a 1.5 ton car using only one hand  kids!

You bringing this up to the January Meet? May be more economical and a softer ride for you.

Haha, does anyone really want to see it? I'm now only doing <2k miles a year in my Cupra, so I can roll it out for special occasions. Gonna phone insurance after xmas and hear excuses why dropping the mileage from 8k->2k a year doesn't save me any money!

Going round to fitting the other 2 filters today. I like the fact the air filter is bigger than Revos!

Apparently this sensor is throwing weird figures out (G62-Coolant temp). Don't think it's expensive or difficult, so might just try a new one anyway.

You mean the underfelt? I think I'm going to leave it off for the moment, cheers. Trouble is, no matter what I put on, it's going to get saggy and mouldy again. This was literally so wet it was hanging off in the middle.
I had a MK 2 2 0L TFSI FR DSG from new 2007-2017, was a great Car.
I also had "soggy bottom syndrome" under the bonnet, there was a factory fix for this involving rubber/nylon seals being fitted between the plastiic exterior "scuttle" and the bonnet, sorry I don;t have the part numbers

Thats very spooky I bought one of those and it arrived today and I modified it to fit the MK3 as it looks much better than the cloth thing.

This is the one I fitted, I had to chop the back bit in half to get it in but so far so good.
I also think I can lower it a bit more, After Xmas project.

Cost I think was £14-00 brand new from China and took only 10 days to deliver.

Yeah, I'm going to have to... I pressured washed the car today, and could see the scuttle bobbing up and down under the jet.

Finally, as this is my cheapo every expense spared build, I've decided instead of expensive Satnav / stereo. I'm going to use a Google Home Mini for entertainment and handsfree calling. Shes already entertained the family for xmas.. now just waiting for the 12v adapter to put in the car:
