Legroom original spec Exeo Sport Tech saloon.

Hi,

Thinking of getting an Exeo saloon (pre extra space) and just wondering what rear leg space was really like in every day driving.
I am 5'9 my wife is 5'7and have a five year old sitting behind my wife's seat in a Britax Evolva (reasonably large car seat with back).

Will the little lone have reasonable leg room? or will he have his feet on the rear of the front seat etc?

Any one with experience of use of a similar model for a family would be great. Any info greatly received.

He'll probably have room, but will be kicking the back of your seat.

I'd just take the seat & wedge him in there - behind your wife & make her sit all the way forward :)

One of them will moan, but assuming your 5yr old is going to keep growing it'd be worth thinking about the next seat as well

The evolva is the necxt seat also. It's a booster when he is too big for the back bit.
I had an Alfa 159, would it be similar or less than the alfa?

I have a Britax Evolver (the ISOfix version) in the back of my Exeo although mine is the later one with the scalloped seat backs and remodeled door posts. I have no problem with my daughter fitting in there behind my wife who likes to have her seat fairly well pushed back. Are you sure you are looking at a pre-revision model? They made the changes mid-production run so that the only way you can tell is by looking at the seats and door posts themselves (from the outside the cars look the same). When I bought my Exeo I took my car seat into the showroom and tried it in a demonstration model which would have been a pre-revision model and from what I remember that fitted OK, if it didn't I wouldn't have ordered one (I didn't know at the time that they were going to revise the seats and door posts and wasn't sure which version I would actually receive).

When were the revisions introduced?

Just my thought, the car I am looking at is a March 11 Registration date.

Cant get to see this one as it is a long round trip (250 miles) for just a look.

Just a thought, why not teach your kid not to kick the seat in front. I had my brothers kid in my car once and he was kicking my seat, My brother said "sorry about that, he always does it" I stopped the car and told the kid that he would never go in my car again if he continued to kick, no more kicking (well not in my car any way)

What are you going to do when he's 9, buy a limo?

The revised interiors were introduced from build week 5 in 2011, so it's possible that yours will have it. The easiest way to tell is to have a look inside - what you are looking for is a cut-away at the bottom 15cm or so on the inside of the rear door posts.

Who said anything about kicking?

I think I was asking a question about the car not seeking parental advice, this a seat forum not mumsnet isn't it?

Also when he is older he will be in a seat where he can have his legs hanging down more, not one where his legs are pointing towards the front seat.

But thanks to the people with the other useful replys.

When you say

I take the "etc" bit as kicking.

Touchy, much?

Well when you troll out the following

Are you surprised?

I asked about rear space, your post had nothing to do with what I was asking.

Other people understood my question so not sure why you think the quoted is any way helpful?

I would of though the idea of the forum was to help users with their questions not mock them for asking a simple question about rear space. Something which is raised in nearly every review of the car.

It's not a case of being touchy, it is just my amazement in such a strange response to a known issue with the car.

On another note I have ordered one though, like many sensible parents who like there cars I will put a decent quality seat tidy on the back of seat in front of him to stop any accidents a it sounds it will be a little closer than the last couple of cars I have had.

I have a tall 6 year old sat in the back of my Exeo and there's enough depth behind the passenger seat, though it would be a touch tight behind the driver seat. The seat back does get a bit mucky from his shoes, but as it's leather it's trivial to keep clean. I'm not sure the cloth seats would be as easy.

Kind of info I needed, cheers.

Sound like it will be a bit snug like the alfa was, but nothing to tight.

Well received today and it is the revised interior. Slightly more leg room for my son than the Alfa 159. It,s a nicer drive also, but not been the best weather for a spirited drive.
