Lemmiwinks/Alhambra 1.9 Tdi

Hi everyone - I'm a newbie here so please be gentle...

I've got a '98 Seat Alhambra 1.9 Tdi (90). Bought a USB OBDII cable off eBay after reading about Lemmiwinks somewhere. Got cable, installed driver and freeware VAG and Lemmiwinks. I tried connecting to ECU with Lemmiwinks but it could not connect to ECU. It kept coming up with 'bad response: ct9'(?) so I tried connecting with VAG-COM. All OK. Then read that I should remove instrument cluster fuse as this can stop it connecting.

I have tried every fuse in the main compartment but to no avail. Occasionally I might get a 'bad response: ct1' but Lemmiwinks will not connect. I tried Uni-settings but basically the same thing happens.

Am I being really thick? Is there something else I'm not doing?

If there's anyone who would help me, I would be very grateful

Cheers

I was wondering if I would be able to use Lemmiwinks to tweak the CPU. Why won't it work, m0rk?

Damn. I was under the impression you could do Tdi with it. Does anyone know any free software for Tdi tuning?

Cheers
