If say on my drive yesterday from Brum to London and back (M40, M25, into London on the M4, 2 stops, out of London on the M11, M25 then back on the M40) I were to have been driving at about 90mph on most of the motorway, that plus driving slowly through London I would have expected my display to say 43mpg.

On UK roads however that would be illegal so my display didn't/wouldn't have said that.

Well my TDI FR is remapped to 225bhp and 340lbs of torque. A normal commute to work will see anything between 45-50mpg driving to speed limits and mainly motorway.

Tonight I left work after the rush hour so never had to stop in traffic jams and got 51.4mpg using cruise control.

Thats the most ill ever get to see from it as I was just crusing down the motorway. To get more than that ill need to go under 60mph on the motorways but whats the point then of having a FR.

I come to the conclusion the remap has added more mpg if drove to speed limits.

This is an interesting thread am currently looking at Leon or possibly ST as have rejected my 320 due to multiple faults but undecided over petrol or diesel.

Although MPG is higher in diesel the Cupra still works out cheaper than running my 320d when you consider the monthly payments.

225BHP/340lb in a diesel sounds good though is the power usable? What other mods you got to get that power?

Sounds good!

You just made the choice harder as now I will have to give the the diesel a go.

helpermonkey - i presume if your thinking of a swap you may be looking for someone who currently drives a nice diesely FR thats looking for a Focus ST with mountune?
