Hey guys, i'm looking to buy a new cat-back system for my leon 20vt4 but i'm having trouble finding one that would fit theoretically. Since I'm having a 4wd Leon a fwd system would not work and there isn't alot of the 4wd systems out there. I was looking to buy a Milltek one but after reading a few forum threads/posts here I might be more interested in a Cobra system instead. However, Is there any 4wd cat-back systems out there for the Leon mk1 or do I have to rely that an Audi S3 8L system would fit? The OEM systems between these 2 do look very much alike but i still guess that tailpipe positions might differ an inch or two sideways.

I don't think you are going to find an off the shelf system from Cobra or Miltek for the Leon 4wd, like you say the closest system will more than likely be for an S3, but may have some slight differences.
For the money it'll cost, I wouldn't be looking at anything other than a custom system, what are they like in Sweden?

I've never even thought about a custom system, and I'm guessing it would cost a lot more than a "plug-and-play" system would do, I'm not even sure what kind of companies I have close to me that would be able to offer me that kind of service but I will at least have a lookout.
The S3 Milltek cat-back non-res systems are about 680€ inc. shipping on EBay, I'm guessing custom-made wouldn't be too far off that price hmm?

Have a look around you to find a metal man. They do anything for cash and local people are usually surprising cheap especially as it's from cat back and not turbo back

I've have a custom cat back exhaust fitted and am going back for another on my new car.
I paid under £300 8 years ago. Just been quoted £350,
Every year my mechanic praises the job and tells me it still looks perfect when the car's on the ramp.
Make sure they use the best steel and the welds are properly done.
Much better value.
Better than lots of big names in my opinion.

I just wanted to tell you all that after a whole lot of research and comparing images of the A3 and Leon exhaust systems i took a chance and ordered a Fox cat-back system for the A3 8L 1,8T Quattro and it plugged in just perfectly! Mounting points between chassis and exhaust components lined up perfectly with eachother. The only thing that bugs me a little is that the tailpipes hangs a bit lower than the ones on the OEM exhaust system.
However, the rear muffler was a "duplex" one (tailpipes on both left and right side) so I had to cut off the tow hook and a part of the chassis where the tow hook was welded on to and the bumper needed some rework for the right hand side tailpipes.
So for the conclusion, if anyone else wants a noisier exhaust system on their 4wd Leon 1M, the A3 8L Quattro systems seems to be one plug-and-play option, unless you order a duplex one.
Just for a quick review, the Fox cat-back with mid-silencer delete pipe is rather quite during cold starts and during normal driving conditions. It starts to make noise at around 2000 rpm and kinda goes a little back and forth between loud and quite up to 3500 rpm and over that it's kinda hard to know if it's louder than the OEM exhaust system. It makes small exhaust pops sometimes as you change gear at around 3000 rpm. It feels (or sounds) well balanced. It did however cost me 630€ so it was a bit pricy, but in my opinion worth it.
