Does any one know if i have to buy Seat's over priced CD changer that fits in the Glove box?
I was told by someone that i can fit a Panasonic 10 disc changer (in the boot)similar to what is fitted into the Audi A3, is this true and can anybody point me in the right direction as to getting one or even a Grundig unit that is not so over priced

Cheers

There is indeed a Panasonic one (or possibly 2?) available that will fit (with an appropriate interface lead).

Before you do that though, if you are capable of fitting it yourself, give Darren a call at Amethyst in Cheltenham and see what price he will do the pukka VAG group one for on a supply only basis. I have to say it's not the best changer in the world, not least because it's a complete B**CH getting CDs in and out of the cartridge.

Yes - being ripped off again.

It seems to be generally accepted that options, accessories and add-on extras are quite a bit cheaper on the continent than they are here.

Flapper, how do I get the CD changer out of my wife's written off V5? Do I just lever off the plastic surround and then unscrew it? Is it fixed with Torx screws?
Anything else worth recovering before it goes to the knackers yard?

What did she do to it? Get her a mini next time, a V5 is far too much power for a woman!

That's a joke before my missus rips my nuts off!

Dizzy cow wasn't looking where she was going!
Went into the back of a builders truck and took out a Ford Granada and Rover 800 whilst taking evasive action...
Anybody know about the CD? I'm off to see it this afternoon...

Daz, thanks, I've acquired a CD autochanger somehow

Couldn't fit the engine or gearbox in my rucksask, sorry m8
I was expecting it to be fitted with a connector but I had to "cut" the wires. Can I get hold of a connector and have you got a wiring diagram? It'll either go in the new Cupra 4 or anybody interested for £100???

I have a sony CDX-T69 6 disc changer in my glove box all properly fitted connected to my original headunit (aura cd). all you need is the converter box and the disc changer which, is alot cheaper than the original seat one and better in my opinion. you can pick one up on ebay for about 40 quid at the moment.

You not got an mp3 player? For the prices you're being quoted why dont you just get a new head unit with an mp3 line in, you can pick up cheapo ones for £60 Cant remember the last time i put a cd in my car since changing mine.
