Hi any help or info would be much appreciated. I have a 51 plate Leon se tdi and i have the mother of all problems. The two keys that were supplied with the car wont open the door manually never have (wont even turn in the barrel). No worries except now the key wont open or lock the car using buttons on the key. This leaves me with a car i cant lock. :censored: The central locking works fine from the button on the drivers door. I did look into re coding the key but i cant possibly when neither key works manually. :help:. I cant even find where the receiver unit for the key is. PLease HeLp I cant afford the stealers after insuring it last month and re booting it this month along with a brake caliper and the third set of anti roll bar bushes in 2 years.

Cheers

Hello,

this may help with the door lock, i assume the barrel in the lock has broken, happened with my old ibiza and its the same lock..

As for the key fob im not to sure..could just be a dead battery?

The receiver node i beleive is on the dashboard, a little bit poking out of the air vent closest to the windscreen in the middle..

You might get more response if you post this in the Leon Mk 1 section, rather than the TDI specific section. The TDI section relates specifically to diesel issues, whereas the Leon section relates to Leons...;)

Sorry for posting in the wrong place and many thanks jason will fully check out ebay tomorrow ive had a long couple of days. The keys both work the tailgate and as i have only ever used the buttons on the main key i dint know they wouldnt open the door :hide:. Battery good ( year old battery light still bright) fuses all good will have to check out the receiver thing my road angel might have knocked it about a bit on occasion but failing that the lock kit gotta be worth a punt at that price if the graphite doesn't work soon.

The little 'knob' in the centre of the dash vent is a temp sensor for the windscreen, not the receiver. It may be worth changing the batteries anyway - an led takes far less power than a transmitter.

As said, might get a better response in the leon section!

Thanks for your help. I managed to fix it. It is down to the pollen filter in a strange way,it obviously isnt seated properly as i had a wee ingress of water behind the dash passenger side which had soaked some box for the original owners handsfree kit with a snakes nest of wires and two intact fuses (the box was toasted tho ) I disconnected it stripped out the unnecessary fuses etc joined a few wires and wrapped it in 3 miles of insulating tape and it locked. Tidy. Have left the boot on manual lock incase it ever decides to stop working. Thanks again for your help.
