Leon climate control

Hi all,

Just changed from Sport to LCR and have now owned a leon for over 8 years. I had hoped that they would have removed the below 3 dgs failsafe on the Climate but no the ****** thing will still not clear the inside screen on a frost morn. The AC on my wife's clio is fine at any temp and clears the misty screen a treat. I know this is a safeguard but I would really like to disable it, any ideas??

Yeh the sub 3 degrees safety is annoying! I now have the choice to sit in traffic chugging in exhaust fumes or freeze and let the windows steam up.

i think you override it by holding , although you do have to hold it

ye the mrs megane allows it to come on what ever the temp ???

-3 here this morning i pressed and held it for a few seconds let go and it demisted the windscreen, top tip

being dumb, is this to get the snowflake on the control unit?
what is the gain in this being on? mine clears fine, though only normally frost or moisture on the outside.

Yeah normally mines fine, but if you get in the car from being outside it can mist up, this just over rides the safety feature.

yep , just to give it a little boost as normal fans dont seem to shif aswell as aircon on , like turboing the fans lol

FYI the AC dehumidifies the air being blown onto the screen, same fan speeds

gutted could have done with this the past few days and only now i find this out - anyway will come in handy in the future

thought this didn't work as was thinking hold, count to 10, release and it would be on but as i got nothing thought was broke.
no ready andy post (#4) again, sit and hold. pah not doing that. nice to know though

bugger, must be mine then.
did 3sec count, 8sec count and 10sec count all at different times on way home.

wonder what mode:
i was trying when i had pressed the windscreen button only.

it only stays on for as long as you have the button pushed. as soon as you let go it turns off again

Mine stayed on until i turned it off by pressing auto.

which mode where you in? normal or windscreen or auto...

Normal mode as i had heat on me when i turned the car off.
Turned the car on then needed to de-mist and pressed the button then let go and it worked.
