Leon Cupra ECU (Mapped) Value?

Hi guys,

I've got an Ibiza Cupra so don't usually come in here.

My dads friend used to have a 2005 Leon Cupra 20vT, which he had mapped to 280bhp he said. He kept the ECU when he sold the car as he paid a fortune to have it mapped & bought a standard one to put back in.

He's given me this ECU to sell, so I'm wondering it's value? And also if anyone would be interested in it? It's part number: 06A 906 032 HN

I think it's been physically chipped rather than remapped as there's sealant on the cover. I might open it up to see whether the chips have any logos on to give me an idea about where it was mapped and to what level.

All I remember is being in this car and it being absolutely rapid.

If it is 280 bhp, then i suspect it is from the Cupra R rather than the cupra as that kind of figure is rather hopeful. Would think it would be difficult to sell and ECU which has been opened, especially without details of who mapped it.

I'd be surprised if that's the full story

It may well be a re-mapped/chipped ECU, but it's not a simple case of unplugging one and plugging in another

Clocks (Tacho, rev counter etc), Keys & Imobiliser are all coded to the ECU, so unless he'd had the coding flashed out already it wouldn't be a cost-viable option to swap the ECU just to retain the chip

ecu swapping is easy and takes me 2sec using vagcom. Have you ever done it?

Buying a mapped ECU tho? Mmm, not for me,
oh and 280bhp, no chance, not even in a LCR.

Bit of bullsh1t here, I'm afraid. That's a Leon Cupra 180 ECU. No way would it be making 280bhp.............

If it's got a chip soldered in it, I'd put it's value at 0.00p.

but thanks for the info anyway, guess he might have been over-estimating it! i know nothing about leons so just going by what he said!
