Leon Cupra R - Rad fan on quite a lot

We bought our LCR last weekend, and I gave it a full service Monday, and had it in the garage on Thursday to do the cambelt.
When I put it in I told them to do the water pump too, he said that he'd check it before replacing so as not to waste my money (I use the garage a lot and they're very good).
Anyway, picked car up and he said they did the belt, but on inspection of the pump he said it was looking perfect, so sign of any leaks or deterioration, so they didn't replace it. He did say, however that they had to refill the anti-freeze because of the work they did - should have asked at the time but was in a rush - don't know whether they would need to refill anti-freeze unless they took pump off??
The other confusing thing is the rad fan seems to come on now an awful lot, particularly when idling - the water temp stays bang on 90c. I'm unsure whether this is since the cambelt work, or if it was like this before.
It could be that this is normal for the R, and the fan(s) are just fairly loud, or could it be something else?
Anyone noticed this on theirs?
Cheers

I would say it's normal, I notice mine coming on quite a lot. If your stood in traffic, it's only the fan that cools the radiator.

depends how you drive it really. I've noticed it a lot less in this kind of weather, but I had a problem on my previous LCR and one of the fans went and caused havoc with the operation of the other one. Supposedly there is a small and a large one.

Might be worth getting the thermostatic switch checked that regulates the fan.

Do a search on "air raid" then take a look at the fan related threads - esp. CupraRRog's thread.
