Right, have decided to keep the splitter. Kept it on over the weekend and it has definitely grown on me. I have gathered feedback from friends and family and all agree that it looks well. Went to body shop this morning and have left the splitter with the guys to do some subtle mods / plastic welding to it. I am just having it sprayed gloss black (carbon dipping was going to be too expensive). will collect it on Friday and re-fit. Will post some pics when job is completed.

Eventually got my splitter back from the body shop and am well pleased with it. I have fitted it back to the car and it looks excellent now and I am 100% convinced about it now.

The body shop slightly modified the splitter for me by plastic welding some extra pieces to the splitter. As standard, when the splitter is fitted, when you look down at it, you can the road behind part of it. So, I have had some plastic welded to the splitter to add more depth to it.

Unfortunately it is raining now, so I haven't managed to get any pictures of the completed fitted unit. However, I have included some pics of the splitter modified and painted gloss black. Will try to get some pics up in the next day or so.

Finish work early tomorrow, so going to try to get induction kit fitted then (weather permitting) and will upload some proper pics.

Looks okay IMO but I still don't think it suits the cupra bumper

Yip, took me a while to make my mind up, but am happy enough with it now. Looks better in the real tbh, but I know what you are saying (and yes, it probably suits the fr bumper better).

Well it's your car so as long as you like then that's all that matters I have people come up to me and say they don't like the wheels or the roof on mine and my reactions is 'well it isn't your car' lol

Hi guys, I'm seriously impressed with the splitter! Looks awesome! Have any of you experienced any scraping on speedbumps from a standard ride height with the splitter on? Considering getting one of these beauts on order

Hi. My car is standard ride height and have had no issues. The only thing that I have to keep in mind is kerbs when pulling into a parking space. I always leave a bit of space if driving straight into a space. However, i usually try to reverse in. Hope that helps.

When i was standard height no problems at all but like Dave said be careful of curbs in car parks e.c.t.

I know you said how to do it but could you do a little guide? Confused as to why I would bond it do you mean like plastic weld it on to the original plastic bit or just screw straight in to it ?

Screw straight into it. No need to plastic weld or anything.

1.) Cut the centre two tabs off with a pair of sifdecutters
2.) Put the splitter where you want it and align in the centre
3.) Screw two self tapping screws straight into it to hold it in place
4.) Put two more self tapers, one on each side just before it starts to curve round the bumper
5.) Now use a heat gun to form it to the shape of the existing bumper and screw in place
6.) Cut the ends off that overhang into the wheel arch and hey presto job done!

I didn't use a heat gun and I didn't need to cut the ends. The only pieces that need cutting are the two uprights in the centre. If you have a metre rule, lay it across the top of the splitter. This will then give you the exact measurement on the uprights that need to be removed. You will also need a sharp knife / cheisel to remove the raised sections that are all along the top of the splitter. I used torque screws rather than self-tappers as they provide a more secure fit (I tried both). There is enough flex in the splitter to shape and bend it virtually perfectly around the bumper with very little effort.

Depends where you sit it i've got mine quite forward

If you gunna use self tapping screws i would recommend buying some strong glue (from B&Q cost about £5) as this will really keep it bonded on
The reason i say this is beacuse i had about 16 self tapping screws on it and after about a month it came off at high speed
Luckliy i retrived it back and got slightly thicker & longer tapping screws, put the screws in the same holes as before and put glue on top of the splitter and the two centre bits.
Steady as a rock now

I'm just not convinced on the actual fit of it. I don't really like the gap between the splitter and the bottom of the bumper at the left and right off centre. Also, the sides of the splitter dont line up with the curvature of the sides of the bumper 100%...lools like it needs some heat work to really try and pull it into shape. Just dont know about it. I am a bit of a perfectionist and if something isn't 100% I usually bin it lol. But, will see what they guys at body shop think.

Thats why you start in the middle then work your way round to the edges
